The Winston Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and established on December 8 2025 by the City Commission of the City of Wildwood, Sumter County, Ordinance No. O2025-56, as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The Winston CDD is located entirely within the boundaries of the City of Wildwood, Sumter County, Florida and covers approximately 83 acres of land. The real property within the boundaries of the District is generally located between County Road 214 and County Road 216, and approximately 500’ West of U.S. 301.
The powers and functions of the District are described in Chapter 190, Florida Statutes. Consent is hereby given to the District’s Board of Supervisors to plan, establish, acquire, construct or reconstruct, enlarge or extend, equip, operate, and maintain systems and facilities described and authorized by Section 190.012(2)(a) and (d), Florida Statues, as long as they do not conflict with systems and facilities provide by the City of Wildwood.
